Alicante Golf course is located at San Juan beach only 5 minutesfrom Alicante City Centre. The wide tree lined fairways, are a stark contrast within the residential area of La Condomina.
Designed by ‘Seve Ballesteros’, it is the only 18 hole, par 72, golf course on the Iberian Peninsula that has the configuration of 6 par 3, 6 par 4 and 6 par 5 holes. On each 9, there are no two consecutive holes with the same par, making play more interesting for the visiting golfer.
The are 5 large lakes, which come into play on 12 of the 18 holes. All of these characteristics add to the enjoyment and challenge for players of all levels. The PGA of Spain has chosen the course for various competitions, the most important being, the Spanish PGA Championship in 2002 & 2003 and the Grand Final of ‘The Peugeot Tour de España’ in 2004,
Alicante Golf course has the reputation of being one of the best maintained courses in Spain combined with excellent practice facilities. The course has another interesting feature on the 14th hole; to reach the green, the shot is played over the ruins of the ‘Villa Ferrer’, a Roman country house from 1 BC that was discovered during course construction.
