Anoreta Golf is a parkland course situated 20km east of Malaga, between km 257 and km258 on the N340/A7 just outside the town of Rincon de la Victoria. Designed by Spanish Ryder Cup player, Jose Maria Canizares and opened in 1990, the 18 hole, par 72 course stretches over 5673m and is very aesthetically pleasing from its elevated position; backed by mountains and overlooking the Mediterranean sea, inundated with tall palm trees and colourful flowers.
The course offers a challenging game suitable for all levels of players and its fast rolling greens, cleverly positioned bunkers and wide variety of holes usually demands the use of most of your clubs.
The Anoreta Golf course is best known for its use of water, which features at 11 of the 18 holes! The most notable being the 7th, which is a par 4 with a lake in the centre of the fairway, the 8th; a tricky par 4, featuring a right dogleg with a large lake to the left and the signature 17th hole, surrounded by water on 3 sides to keep players on their toes. The 3rd is also an interesting challenge; a par 5 standing at over 500m.
Anoreta offers tuition for all levels at their 2 golf academies. One provides tuition for junior players and the other for adults, with 3 levels: beginners, improvers and professional competition players catered for by the club’s professionals; Antonio Lastre, Beboña de Cespedes and Sergio de Cespedes Rodrigues. Tuition is available in English, Spanish, German and French.
Typical Mediterranean cuisine can be sampled in the restaurant, a private dining room can be arranged and the social room offers a friendly ambiance for relaxing after the game. The club bar provides drinks and snacks and the terrace is the perfect place to soak up the sun, overlooking the 13th hole.
