Doña Julia Golf

Dona Julia Golf is part of a huge leisure development and residential complex owned by Grupo Evemarina, which when completed will comprise three 18 hole golf courses, 2 luxury Hyatt Hotels; incorporating a 4000m2 spa, a variety of restaurants and bars, shops and supermarkets, sport and equestrian facilities, football pitches, a tennis centre and a kids club.

Situated at km 146 of the A-7, it is a few minutes drive from the quaint white pueblo of Casares and conveniently less half an hour from Marbella and Malaga Airport. Named after the original finca which stood on the 559,700m2 estate, Dona Julia was opened in December ’05 as a provisional 18 hole, par 71 course of 6021m. On completion, it will be par 72 and 6100m in length.

This beautiful coastal course was designed by the well known Malaga architect Antonio Garcia Garrido, constructed in accordance with U.S.G.A. regulations and is immaculately groomed and run by Aymerich Golf Management. Dona Julia Golf is renowned for its expansive greens, some of which are up to 1000m2 in size!

The first 9 holes wind over relatively flat ground between indigenous trees and lakes. The longer drives of the back 9 coupled with the lakes, streams and natural terrain roughs pose more of a challenge but also offer fabulous views of the Straits of Gibraltar and the African coastline.

Eleven of the holes are elevated and feature the sea as a backdrop. The course is suitably challenging for all handicaps.

The 400m2 temporary clubhouse is situated near the entrance and facilities include reception, changing rooms, restaurant and a large pro shop. Players at the Dona Julia can opt for the separate 9 hole, par 3 course, polish their skills at the International Golf Academy or simply de-stress at the driving range and practice area.
Clubs, buggies and golf trolleys can all be hired at the clubhouse.
