Los Flamingos Golf

The borders of Los Flamingos Golf course and the horizon of the sea almost become one along Marbella’s New Golden Mile and when when this project is fully completed, it will actually comprise four golf courses. Los Flamingos 18 hole course at par 72, the Executive Course with 9 holes at par 64, the Gran Flamingo 18 hole course at par 72 and Flamingos Norte, an 18 hole par 72 course which will open in 2007.

The Flamingos course was designed by Antonio Garcia Garrido in a striking Tuscan gardens style. It has already been host several times to the Daily Telegraph European Senior Matchplay Championships.

Visitors are almost transported back in time to regal scenes of classical statues, Cyprus trees, marble bridges and Roman columns that adorn the 5906m grounds. The Arroyo del Taraje (river) flows through the Los Flamingos course into a lake at the 10th hole. Artificial lakes also play a role at the 15th, 16th and 17th. Garrido has made imaginative use of elevated tees, generous greens, large crushed marble bunkers and of course the stunning views from around the course of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa. Each hole is characterized by its own tree. The discerning eye will spot pomegranate, jacaranda, olive, pine, cypress, orange and chestnut trees among others along and around the fairways.
The exquisite Tuscan Palace “Hotel Villa Padierna” Clubhouse offers advanced facilities, such as indoor and outdoor pools, Spa, Business Center and Beach Club as well as top class dining at a choice of three wonderful restaurants.
